Respected Prof. Dr Nishtha Jaswal is an academician, administrator and currently the Vice-Chancellor of National Law University, Shimla. She is the first woman Vice-Chancellor of HPNLU, Shimla. Prof. Nishtha did her PhD in 1989 from Panjab University.
Prof. Nishtha started his teaching career in 1986. She was also invited as visiting professor by the British Academy, London, in 1992. She has teaching experience of 33 years and research experience of 35 years.
Field of specialisation is Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Human Rights and Environmental Law. She has published fifty-six papers and presented twenty-five seminars and conferences.
Research guidance/ supervision experience: Guiding and supervising LL.M. and PhD. students. She has published six books, including (i) Role of the supreme court about the right to life and personal liberty, APH Publishing Corporation, Delhi. (ii) Human Rights and The Law, APH Publishing Corporation, Delhi.
