Respected Prof. Dr Premendu Mathur served as FNASc, FAMS, FISC, General Secretary (Scientific Affairs) of the Indian Science Congress (2016-2019). He also worked  Served as Vice-Chancellor, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar (August 2012-August 2017), Dean, School of Life Sciences and Head, Centre of Excellence in Bioinformatics, Pondicherry University. He Received his M.Sc.and PhD degrees from BHU Varanasi. Guided several PhD, M. Phil., M.Sc. dissertations.

Prof. Mathur has Over 45 years of teaching and research experience. Published over 188 scientific papers. He has an index of 37 (Scopus); 48 (Google Scholar). Vice-President, Asian Association of Andrology. Editorial Board member and Reviewer of over 120 national and international journals. Recipient of Young Scientists’ Award, Asutosh Mookerjee Memorial Award, Rockefeller Foundation Special Postdoctoral Fellowship Award, Rockefeller Foundation Biotechnology Career Award, INSA-German Academy (DFG) Exchange Programme, Dr P.N. Shah Memorial US Vitamin (India) Oration The award, ICMR International Fellowship Award for Senior Indian Biomedical Scientist, Subhas Mukherjee Memorial In far India Oration Award, Dr K.K. Iya Memorial Oration (National Dairy Research Institute, India. Visiting Professor/ Scientist at The Population Council, Rockefeller University, New York, Cleveland Clinic, USA, Westfälische-Wilhelms Universitat, Muenster, and Hamad Medical Centre, Qatar. He was President, Section of Animal Veterinary and Fishery Sciences, Indian Science Congress.

He served on the National Task Force on Bioinformatics and Infrastructure Facilities of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and the Department of Information Technology, Government of India. He is on the National Task Force on Fertility Regulation & Expanding Contraceptive Choices of the Indian Council of Medical Research. He is on the Committee on Reproduction and the Environment of the Society for the Study of Reproduction, U.S.A. and was Vice-Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Third Asia-Pacific Forum on Andrology, China.
