The much-appreciated and highly-esteemed Professor Dr Shuchitangshu Chatterjee is the Vice-Chancellor of RKDF University, Ranchi. His ceaseless efforts and contributions toward the rise of the education industry have been really very estimable. Dr Shuchitangshu has not only mastered his academic journey, but also an outstanding hands-on experience in the industrial and defence sector.

His unparalleled effort on numerous prime projects in the field of Thermoelectric for variant agencies including Indian Defense has been a true example of a true leader and supreme. His application of the Peltier Effect for Micro-climate cooling and Athermalization of NAG IR optics (Anti-Tank Missile) are some of the peerless contributions for defiance personnel and is the first of their kind in India. Dr Shuchitangshu’s heating/cooling helmet for industrial application truly stands out to be an exemplar of an exceptional mindset.

Dr Shuchitangshu has also been an active altruist for a highly-recognized company, MECON Ltd, Rachi. His exemplary service towards the noted company has been a reflection of utter diligence and zeal to reach new heights. He played a dual role as the Head of R&D Division as well as HRD Section of MECON. After serving 31 years of service at MECON, his unrivalled efforts and commitment to the company made him the General Manager of the Research Development and Product Development Section.

Besides being a prominent personality of RKDF University, Dr Shuchitangshu is also a Founder Member of the Advisory Committee of International Thermoelectric Society, USA in 1988. He has been an ardent traveller and has travelled across the world for numerous important official assignments. To state, some of the countries that Dr Shuchitangshu has travelled are USA, the University of Toronto, Canada, Russia., Paris, France, Kazakhstan, UK.

It is worth stating here that Dr Shuchitangshu’s remarkable endeavour and hard work for several years, made him the worthy bearer of honourable Awards and esteemed positions. He was Elected as ‘Vice-President’ of the International Thermoelectric Academy on May 18, 2017, in Belfast, UK. He was awarded the prestigious ‘Best Citizens of India Award’, ‘Bharat Jyoti Award’, in 2016. Besides, he has also received scores of Awards of Excellence for young scientists in the year 1992-93 from the Indian Institute of Metals and received the Best Paper Award in the year 1994 - 95 from the Indian Institute of Metals. After accomplishing major sectors of success, Dr Shuchitangshu became a Member of the International Thermoelectric Academy and Academician Ukraine, 2014 & 1996.

Dr Shuchitangshu has more than 76 publications, with 37 of them being international in his bucket. He holds 18 nos. of Patents in the areas of thermoelectric & allied fields. His outstanding works and achievements are truly an inspiration for the young minds across the globe.
