CBSE has released new registration guidelines for students entering Classes 9 and 11 in the 2025-26 academic year, asking schools to follow a thorough process to ensure everything is correct and on time. If you’re a parent, teacher or student, here’s what you need to understand.
First off, schools must use the Pariksha Sangam portal on the CBSE website to register students. One big change: APAAR IDs are mandatory now. Schools need to link these while entering student data. This helps CBSE track and verify student identities properly.
Accuracy matters a lot. Details like name, date of birth, and chosen subjects must be correct, and only bonafide students can be registered. Schools should hold meetings among teachers handling registration data to make sure everything is uploaded properly. Parents & students must also be informed so they can check the data.
After the registration window closes, a verification slip will be generated for each student. If anything is wrong, corrections are allowed between November 14 and November 28, 2025 this is the chance to fix mistakes.
Some more pointers:
- Schools need to update their data in other related CBSE systems (OASIS, HPE) before registration.
- Photographs and signatures of students must be uploaded.
- Names must not contain abbreviations, especially in student or parent names.
- Subject combinations must follow CBSE’s prescribed scheme. No “unauthorised” subjects.
Finally: only students registered through this process will be eligible to take the Class 10 or 12 board exams in 2026-27. The registration deadline is strict no late submissions or corrections after the cut-off (except in specific transfer cases). So don’t delay.
