DUSU Elections 2025 Key players ABVP, NSUI, SFI-AISA compete amid heightened turnout expectations

Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) election 2025 is underway today across DU colleges with student casting votes in two phase: 8:30 am to 1 pm for day college, and 3 pm to 7:30 pm for evening college. There are 21 candidate trying for four main position: president, vice-president, secretary, and joint secretary. Major student outfits in contest are ABVP, NSUI, and Left alliance SFI-AISA.

For first time in many years, women candidate are in fray for DUSU president, a move that many describe as push for gender representation. Joslyn Nandita Choudhary (NSUI), Anjali (SFI-AISA) among them are contest. Turnout is close watch; security is tight across poll station. The count of votes will announce on September 19.

Some issue being raise by candidate include campus infrastructure, hostel facility, safety, and travel subsidy. Also, attendance criteria matter more now, after Delhi High Court clarify that student with less than 75% attendance may be disqualified from contest. The administration and police presence is visible, as political tone remain high in what many call one of the most competitive student poll at DU in recent year.
