The Ministry of Education in India, along with Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), NCERT has conclude a special five-day live program from 15 to 19 September 2025. The event was organise to mark the International Day of Sign Languages, which observe every year on 23 September.

It was broadcast through PM eVIDYA ISL Channel No. 31 and also NCERT’s YouTube channels. Each day interactive sessions was held between 12:40 PM to 1:40 PM. The themes include using ISL in classrooms and pedagogy, inclusion by sports, expression in ISL, experiences of deaf persons and promoting inclusive practice in education. Deaf experts has led the sessions on fourth and fifth days, giving direct voice from the community.

ISL interpreters were available all the time, making sure accessibility for all. Experts from many reputed institutions like DoSEL, RCI, ISLRTC, AIISH, AYJNISHD and others has also joined. Deaf athletes and performers too participated, showing inclusion with sports, art and public expression.

This initiative show India continuing commitment for inclusive and equitable education, which is highlight in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and also linked with Sustainable Development Goal 4 on Quality Education. It again proved how important sign language is to provide equal learning chances for hearing-impaired learners. The recordings of these sessions are also kept available so more people can get benefit.
