The registration date for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 has been extended, which bring relief to thousands of candidate. Students now have till October 6, 2025, to apply without late fee. Those who miss the first window can still apply upto October 9, 2025, by paying the late fees.

The GATE exam is schedule on February 7, 8, 14 and 15, 2026. Each day will have two session, morning from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and afternoon from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Result are expected on March 19, 2026. GATE is not just exam for higher education, it also a gateway to M.Tech, Ph.D, public sector job, and also management program in top institutions. Candidate from science, engineering and related field can apply, but they must check paper combination rules carefully. For example, some streams like Aerospace Engineering cannot pair with unrelated subject.
