In New Delhi, the CBSE Class 12 board exam results were announced on Tuesday, with girls outperforming boys by a margin of over five percentage points, according to Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj. This year, 88.39% of students passed the exam, showing a slight improvement from last year's 87.98%.

Girls achieved a pass percentage of 91.64%, while 85.70% of boys cleared the exam. Notably, transgender candidates registered a 100% pass rate, a significant increase from last year's 50%.

A total of 1,11,544 students scored above 90%, and 24,867 students exceeded the 95% mark. These figures are slightly lower than last year's, when around 1.16 lakh students scored above 90% and 24,068 crossed the 95% threshold.

Among high achievers, 290 were children with special needs, 55 of whom scored over 95%. Out of 16,92,794 students who appeared for the exam, more than 1.29 lakh have been placed in the compartment category—up from 1.22 lakh in 2024.

Region-wise, Vijayawada topped the chart with a 99.60% pass rate, followed by Trivandrum at 99.32%. Prayagraj recorded the lowest pass rate at 79.53%.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas had the highest institutional pass rate at 99.9%, while private schools recorded the lowest at 87.94%. Foreign schools saw a slight drop in pass percentage—from 95.84% last year to 95.01% this year.
