On September 1, 2025, President Droupadi Murmu graced the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) in Mysuru, Karnataka. Made in 1965 under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, AIISH has been a beacon of excellence in South Asia, specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of communication disorders. The institution offers a comprehensive range of programs from diplomas to postdoctoral fellowships and is recognized as a centre of excellence in the region.

During her address, President Murmu lauded AIISH for its significant contributions to education, medical services, and research in speech and hearing. She extended heartfelt congratulations to all past and present faculty, administrators, and students for their dedication to improving the lives of individuals with communication challenges.

The event was attended by dignitaries including Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Union Minister of State for Health Anupriya Patel, and Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao.
