President Murmu Honors 82 Educators with National Teachers’ Award 2025
On the occasion of Teachers' Day, 5 September 2025, President Droupadi Murmu presented the National Teacher Award to 82 special teachers at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. This annual honour, which was established in 1958, honours teachers who have made outstanding contribution in the field of education and promoted the overall development of students.
This year, the awards were presented to 45 school teachers and high educational institutions and 37 faculty members of polytechnic. The award recipients were selected through a three-step rigorous process at the district, state and national level, ensuring fair and transparent evaluation of their contribution. In her address, President Murmu emphasized that education is as fundamental as food, clothing, and shelter, underscoring its role in ensuring dignity and security. She highlighted the transformative power of education, noting that children from the most disadvantaged backgrounds can achieve remarkable progress through quality education.
The award winners were awarded the Mert Certificate, a cash prize money of ₹ 50,000 and a silver medal. In addition, he also got an opportunity to interact with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which further recognized his significant contribution to the nation's educational field.
