New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu on Friday launched engineering books of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in Odia language at a special program in Jaydev Bhawan in Bhubaneswar. Murmu unveiled various projects of the Union Ministry of Education including 20 engineering books for BTech and diploma engineering courses translated into Odia on the second day of her visit to the State.

The translated books are available in portal called e-KUMBH which was launched by the President today in presence of Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. She also launched the Glossary of the technical term developed by CSTT in Odia Languages.

Addressing the audience at the event, Murmu said that the intellectual development of a child educated in the mother tongue is more than others. The government will try its best to remove barriers to education, ensuring that no one is deprived of the basic right to education.

She opined that education in the mother tongue has been emphasized in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The government is giving importance to the development of talent at the grassroots level.

Speaking on the occasion, the President said, “There is no doubt that the mother tongue helps intellectual development in students.”
