Adani Group with IIM-Calcutta Launches Nearly

The Adani Group has unveiled a cherished opportunity for MBA students at IIM Calcutta: a scholarship worth Rs 1.62 crore, aimed at nurturing future leaders and fuelling stronger links between academia and industry. This initiative falls under the banner of the Adani Accelerated Leadership Program (AALP), which was formed through a recent Memorandum of Understanding with IIM Calcutta.

Each year, six deserving students enrolled in the MBA programme will be selected as beneficiaries. Over two years, the total funds will be distributed in two installments of Rs 81 lakh each, contingent on sustained academic performance, ensuring the scholars stay motivated and excel.

In the words of Subhashrie R. Venkatraj, Senior Vice President of AALP Intake at Adani, and echoed by Promoter and Executive Director Sagar Adani, the aim is to “facilitate talent building, resulting in organisation building.” They hope this scholarship will help produce graduates who are not only academically strong, but also ready to contribute meaningfully in corporate settings.

Beyond the monetary support, the program is also about recognition creating visibility for student excellence and creating pathways for leadership development. It reflects a broader trend where private sector and educational institutions partner to reduce financial burdens on students, while also investing in human capital. Many MBA aspirants will see this as a welcome boost, both for their studies and their future careers.
