Shillong Government College of Engineering, Mawlai Kynton Massar, is now undergoing the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) clearance procedure in order to provide new courses.

According to official sources, the academic council of North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) has given temporary affiliation to provide B.Tech courses.

In order to make the engineering college fully functional, the state government has granted permission to the Additional Director & Principal of Shillong Polytechnic, Mawlai, and 13 faculty members of Shillong Polytechnic who are qualified to hold additional charge as Head of the Institute to become faculty members of the engineering college.
