The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched one lakh internships to promote skill growth in India. These internships will be functional on the ACTE Website as an Internship portal. The project was established by the Education and skill development Minister of India, Dharmendra Pradhan. While addressing the press Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the portal will open the doors for learners to understand how an industry works. The portal will offer internships to technical education students, said the AICTE. An internship is mandatory for all UG/Diploma students taking Technical courses. Organizations such as Salesforce, Cisco, MGNCRE and RSB Transmission India Ltd have presented internships on the platform. The AICTE Chairman, Prof Anil Sahasrabudhe, stated, "It is very exhilarating that we are making one lakh internship opportunities. Networking and customer relationships are effective means for creating employment and entrepreneurship. I expect everyone to benefit from this platform and encourage businesses to increase internship opportunities in the upcoming years. The Education Minister stated that "We would like to raise the Gross Enrolment Ratio from 27 to 65 per cent. I am pleased that the wheels of the chariot of the National Educational Policy 2020 have begun moving with the takeoff of this agenda. Every evolved economy requires a qualified and competent workforce, and this initiative will help us achieve that," said Pradhan.
