A shocking incident has come to light at Amity International School in Lucknow, where a student was slapped by his classmates more than 50 times. The incident took place inside the school premises and its video became increasingly viral on social media.
According to the information received, the victim student, who is a minor, was surrounded by some of his classmates and kept slapping in turn. During this time other students kept recording this entire incident on mobile phones. As soon as the video went viral, there was a strong response to both the school administration and the police.
The police, taking immediate action in the case, have registered a case against five students. Officials said that a case has been registered under the respective sections in the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Juvenile Justice Act. At present, the investigation is going on and statements of school administration, parents and eyewitnesses are being taken.
This incident once again creates serious concerns about the calling and violence in schools. Child psychologists say that such incidents can have a profound impact on the mental health of children. He suggested that strict anti-bulling policy, awareness campaign and counseling facilities should be compulsory in schools.
