Apply Now JEE (Main) 2026

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has formally opened the online application window for the JEE (Main) 2026 Session 1 and announced the examination dates a crucial update for engineering-hopefuls across India. This year’s exam is set up in two sessions: Session 1 in January, Session 2 in April.

Here are the essentials:

Session 1 application form is now live on the official portal jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The exam for Session 1 will be held between January 21–30, 2026.
Session 2 is scheduled for April 1–10, 2026; application form for that will open in late January.
The exam format will remain Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
NTA is increasing the number of exam cities and giving special attention to PwD/ PwBD candidates to ensure accessibility.

What this means for aspirants: Starting early is smart. Submitting your application now not only secures your place in Session 1 but gives you more time to prepare, choose optional centres and avoid last-minute rush. With two sessions, there’s added flexibility — a second chance in April if January doesn’t go as planned.

Important pointers: When applying, ensure your Aadhar details (name, date of birth, gender, address) match your credentials. If there’s a mismatch (for example between your Aadhar and your 10th class certificate), the NTA has provided a mechanism in the application form to address that.
A practical tip: Before you click ‘submit’, double check everything photo quality, signature, category code, centre preference. Also pay the fee promptly to avoid rejection. Make a note of the transaction number and keep a screenshot of the confirmation page.

In summary: The JEE (Main) 2026 Session 1 registration is open, exam dates are set if you’re eyeing engineering admission, now’s the time to lock your application and shift focus to preparation. Two sessions give you leeway but the early bird still has the best shot.
