In preparation for the upcoming class X and XII board exams, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a circular requiring all schools to install Closed-Circuit Televisions (CCTVs) within the examination hall.
According to the circular, around 44 lakh students will appear in the board exams. The board said in the circular, “You are aware that CBSE is holding Class X and XII examinations in India and 26 countries abroad. In the year 2025, approximately 44 lakh students will be appearing in the class X and class XII board examinations. For holding these examinations, approximately 8,000 schools will be fixed as the examination centres.”
To ensure the integrity and fairness of examination, this policy establishes guidelines for using CCTV in all examination centres. The primary objective of this policy is to deter, detect, and address unfair practices during examinations, while also upholding the privacy and rights of all individuals.
Here are the objectives of the circular
This policy applies to all examination centres. It covers the installation, operation, and management of CCTV systems within examination venues by the school. In each examination centre, one person for 10 rooms or 240 students will be made responsible for continuously monitoring the fair conduct of examinations.
