CBSE Releases AI Sample Paper

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has unveiled the much-anticipated sample question paper for the Class 12 Artificial Intelligence (AI) board exam for the 2025-26 academic session, offering students an early look at the exam pattern and marking scheme for their upcoming tests. This sample paper is intended to give learners greater clarity and confidence as they prepare for the board exams scheduled in March 2026.

Designed strategically to blend theoretical understanding with real-world application, the sample paper highlights two broad sections: Employability Skills and Subject-Specific AI Skills. The aim is not only to test students’ textbook knowledge but also to evaluate their ability to apply AI concepts in practical scenarios a departure from earlier, more rote-based testing patterns.

The 50-mark question paper, to be completed in a two-hour exam, includes questions on foundational topics like communication, data storytelling, machine learning principles, and ethical considerations in AI. Students are encouraged to sharpen both conceptual clarity and analytical thinking, an approach that aligns with CBSE’s broader educational reform goals.

Educators have welcomed the release, noting that this sample paper will help reduce anxiety among students who are juggling multiple board subjects. By working through representative sample questions, learners can familiarize themselves with the format and structure of the actual exam, estimate time management strategies, and identify areas needing extra attention. Teachers say that making sample papers available well in advance is a positive step toward preparing a new generation of students for technology-driven careers.

Parents have also expressed support for the initiative, with many appreciating the focus on practical and employability skills that mirror real-life challenges. In an era where AI is increasingly woven into daily life and future job markets, early exposure to such concepts is seen as valuable.

While some students initially found AI intimidating, many now feel more confident after exploring the sample paper. They are reportedly using it to practice critical thinking and problem-solving ahead of the main exams. With board season approaching, experts recommend students balance sample paper practice with regular revision to perform well across all subjects.

Overall, CBSE’s move to release a detailed, skills-oriented sample question paper underscores a shift toward more meaningful assessments that prepare students for life beyond the classroom.
