Navjot Singh, a computer science engineering student at Chandigarh University, has achieved an impressive feat by securing 77 patents while managing his academic responsibilities. His remarkable accomplishment highlights his dedication and innovation in the field of technology.

His incredible feat has not only caught the eye of the tech world but also set a new benchmark for student innovation. Singh, with his inventive prowess in fields such as network security, the Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI), is redefining what it means to be a tech visionary.

Among Singh’s diverse range of patents are groundbreaking inventions like 'Revolutionizing Network Security with Sustainability,' 'Smart Baby Toy Revolutionizes Parenting,' and 'Intelligent IoT-Enabled Library Bookshelves.'

These patents showcase Singh’s ability to combine advanced technology with practical applications.

Other notable patents include a 'Portable Device Integrating Nano-Sensors and IoT for Early Detection of Plant Pathogens' and a 'Real-Time AI-Powered System for Network Anomaly Detection,' which reflect his commitment to solving contemporary challenges using technological innovation.

Singh attributes his success to the robust support and resources provided by Chandigarh University. The institution has positioned itself as a hub for research and innovation, offering students access to state-of-the-art facilities and funding opportunities.

With 30 industry-sponsored research laboratories and 32 centres of excellence, Chandigarh University has fostered an environment conducive to innovation.

Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu told ANI, “Navjot’s achievements are a testament to his hard work and the university’s commitment to fostering innovation.”

Navjot Singh, son of an Indian Army officer, hailing from Ludhiana, Punjab, has expressed gratitude to Chandigarh University for its role in shaping his research career. He envisions contributing to India’s global innovation stature, aiming to elevate the country’s ranking in the Global Innovation Index.

Singh said, “Currently, India ranks 40th in the Global Innovation Index, and I have a dream to contribute through my research and see my nation rank among the top innovators worldwide.”

RECOGNITION AND AWARDS

Navjot Singh’s achievements have not gone unnoticed. He has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Baroda Achiever Award 2024, which came with a cash prize of Rs 31,000, and Chandigarh University’s Best Researcher of the Year award.

Singh has also represented his university in various national and international competitions, such as the Smart India Hackathon, where he secured notable rankings. Additionally, he ranked 6th among 100 teams in the e-Suraksha Hackathon 2024, organized by the Computer Society of India.
