CLAT 2024 Sees 24.5% Surge in Applications, Exam Analysis Revealed

The Common Law Admission Test 2024 (CLAT 2024) will be administered by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) on December 3, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. CLAT 2023 will be administered at 139 test centers around the country.

By 1:30 p.m., candidates must report to their assigned seats in the hall or classroom. Before 4:00 p.m., the applicant is not permitted to leave the hall or classroom. After 2:15 p.m., candidates are not authorized to enter the classroom or exam hall. The examination will take two hours and forty minutes.

“Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2024 registered a total increase of 24.5% in applications compared to last year (CLAT 2023). Specifically, the Consortium of National Law Universities received 34.7% more Undergraduate applications and 25.8% more Postgraduate applications this year as compared to last year (CLAT 2023)”, reads the official notification.

CLAT 2023 Paper Analysis: The Quantitative Aptitude part was easy

This part, contrary to predictions, caused a shift in students' attitudes. While the computations were relatively lengthy, they were simple, covering topics such as ratio and proportion, %, and so on. Two sets of 12 questions each were provided. Overall, an easy portion.

CLAT 2024 paper analysis: Logical reasoning had 24 questions

The 24 questions in this portion, selected from four passages, were conceptual rather than contextual in nature. The questions were mostly straightforward, with an emphasis on Critical Reasoning. However, the inclusion of perplexing possibilities adds another degree of complexity.

CLAT 2023: Legal Reasoning analysis

Featuring five passages centered around recent legal developments, this section touched upon subjects like the Data Protection Act, Juvenile Justice, Defamation, and Inheritance. Overall, the section was labeled as "easy." An advisable attempt is within the range of 28-30 questions, resulting in a potential score of 25-26.

CLAT 2024: General Knowledge section analysis

This portion had 28 questions drawn from five sections and included themes such as Chandrayaan-3, the G-20, and the Israel-Hamas conflict, among others. Static subjects like the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and the Constitution were also discussed. The portion was seen to be a little peculiar. A noteworthy attempt consists of answering 25-26 questions, with a possible score of 23-25.

CLAT 2024: Paper was simple last year

According to CLAT 2024 exam analysis, the paper's general difficulty level was quite simple, with a modest duration. This year's paper is thought to be easier than previous ones.
