The CUET UG results, initially scheduled for June 30, are now expected by July 10 due to answer key delays. This postponement affects the admission schedules of
The National Testing Agency (NTA) had initially announced that the CUET UG results would be released on June 30. However, according to government sources, the results for the Common University Entrance Examination (CUET) are now expected by July 10. This exam is crucial for students seeking admission to undergraduate programs in central universities across India.
The delay in results comes amidst controversy over alleged paper leaks in other important exams like NEET-UG and UGC-NET.
Last week, The Indian Express reported the delay in CUET results, which could impact the academic schedules of universities such as Delhi University (DU) and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). DU had planned to start its academic year on August 1 and open its phase two admissions portal by July 2. The university has 71,000 seats to fill based on CUET-UG scores. Haneet Gandhi, Dean of Admissions at DU, mentioned that the delay is due to the answer key for CUET-UG not being released yet. Since DU relies on NTA for results, they cannot proceed with admissions until the results are announced.
CUET-UG results are essential for admission to DU, JNU, and other central universities. CUET-UG is the main admission test for undergraduate programs at 46 central universities. This year’s exam was conducted in both online and pen-and-paper formats from May 15 to May 31.
JNU, which uses CUET-UG scores for some language programs and its BSc-MSc Integrated program in Ayurveda Biology, is also concerned about the delays. A JNU official mentioned that any delay in CUET results would affect the entire country's admission cycle, not just JNU.
