CUSAT Opens Registration for CAT 2026

The Cochin University of Science and Technology has officially opened the registration process for the Common Admission Test 2026, offering students an important opportunity to secure admission into a wide range of academic programmes. The entrance examination serves as the gateway for undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Tech and MBA courses offered by the university.

The registration window opened on January 27, 2026, allowing eligible candidates from across the country to apply online. Every year, thousands of students appear for this exam, making it one of the most competitive university-level entrance tests in Kerala and neighbouring states.

CUSAT CAT plays a crucial role in shaping the academic journeys of students aspiring to pursue studies in engineering, science, technology, management and architecture. Admission to these programmes is based on performance in the entrance examination, followed by counselling and seat allotment.

Students should note the important deadlines before applying. The registration for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes will close on March 5, 2026. Candidates applying for M.Tech courses can submit their applications until April 16, 2026, while MBA applicants have time until April 30, 2026.

The application process is conducted entirely online. Candidates must first create a login account using a valid email address and password. After registration, applicants are required to fill in personal details, academic qualifications and course preferences. Once submitted, students are advised to keep their login credentials safe for future steps such as downloading the admit card and checking results.

Preparation for the examination depends largely on the chosen programme. Engineering aspirants usually revise Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, while management candidates focus on quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, verbal skills and data interpretation. Creating a structured study schedule can significantly improve performance.

After the examination, results and scorecards will be released on the official portal. Qualified candidates will be invited to participate in counselling sessions, during which seats will be allotted based on rank, preferences and availability.

For many students, the opening of CAT 2026 registration marks the beginning of a decisive academic phase. With clearly defined dates and procedures, aspirants now have adequate time to complete their applications and prepare confidently for the examination ahead.
