The Directorate of School Education, Government of Delhi has notified the annual school calendar for the academic year 2024-25 for all government and government-aided schools in the national capital. The next academic session will begin on April 1, 2025.
The Delhi school yearly calendar for 2024-25 was developed after a discussion on the admission procedure on February 1. On February 1, all deputy directors of education and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) collaborated to create the Delhi school yearly calendar.
It instructed all heads of schools to ensure that the 220 working days are completed before announcing holidays and academic sessions.
The declaration of the list of chosen children and the waiting list for admission will take place on March 23, after the March 21 lot draw. On the same day, the Department of Education will begin the admissions process for Nursery, Kindergarten, and Class 1. Admission of children on the waiting list will be processed between April 2 and April 6, assuming the slot remains open.
For children in grades 6 through 9, online admissions will commence in three phases: the first phase from April 1 to April 8 at 5 p.m., the second phase from May 1 to May 20 at 5 p.m., and the third phase from July 1 to July 20 at 5 p.m. Submission or Verification of documents for admission for class 6th to class 9th in allotted schools will be in three phases that are, the first phase from April 23 to April 30, the second phase from June 11 to June 25, and the third phase from August 2 to August 9.
The issuance of application forms for classes 10 to 12 will be released on April 18, and the last date for receipt of filled-in application forms is April 29. Distribution of admit cards will be on May 6, date of the Common Admission Test (CAT) will be from May 9 from 10 am to 12 noon. Declaration of the result of the Common Admission Test will be on May 14 and the last date of submission of files by the concerned HoS to DDE (District) for approval and ID generation will be on May 21.
As per the Delhi school holidays calendar for 2024, the summer vacation will begin from May 11 to June 30, the autumn break will start from October 9 to 11, and the winter vacation from January 1 to 15, 2025.
Class 11 admission 2024 in Delhi schools on the other hand will commence after the declaration of Class 10 results 2023-24.
