New directive requires Zoho Office adoption boosting India move toward digital self reliance.
In a significent step toward promoting digital self relience, the Ministry of Education has directed all its departments and affilated offices to adopt the Zoho Office Suit for official documentation work. The move aligns with Indian government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initative, which seek to encourge the use of indian made technologies over foreign software solution.
According to the circular issued by Under Secretary Nishant Upadhyaya, all officials are now requred to use Zoho Writer for word process, Zoho Sheet for spreadsheet work and Zoho Show for presentation. These tools will be connected with NIC’s official mail system to make sure smooth transition and better data safety. The Ministry believes this change will not only make workflow more effecient but also support India’s long term dream of becoming digitally independant.
Officials has been asked to familiar themself with Zoho’s features and contact the CMIS/NIC devision for any techinical help. The ministry also said that using home grown digital tools will cut down dependency on international platform, keep government data more secure and promote the growth of Indian software company.
Zoho, based in Chennai, is already well known globally for its wide range of productivty tools. Its adoption by the Ministry of Education is seen as a big milestone that shows more trust in Indian technology at the national level. This change also shows India’s confidence to build and run strong software ecosystem that can compete with global brands like Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Though the transition may take some time for employee to get used to, it marks a bigger push to embrace indian made digital tools across government offices. The step reflects India’s commitment to grow its own technology strength, support local innovation and move toward a digitally empowered and self relient nation.
