Good news for the design aspirants Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) has gave a five-day extension to the UCEED 2026 registration deadline. Earlier the last date was October 31, but now candidates can register till November 5, 2025. Also, those who miss it can still apply with late fees till November 10.

UCEED is a national level entrance exam for Bachelor of Design (BDes) courses at institute like IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur. The admit card is suppose to be released around January 2, 2026, and the exam will happening on January 18.

Eligibility rules stays same: students who passed or appearing Class XII in 2025 or 2026 from any stream can apply. A candidate can only attempt UCEED two times in consecutive years. Registration fee is ₹2,000 for Indian nationals, female candidates and SC/ST/PwD students, while other Indian candidates have to pay ₹4,000. Foreign students has different fee structure.

This decision clearly shows IIT Bombay understands the pressure on students board exams, portfolio making, and other entrance forms all together. For many students, this extra few days can make a real difference maybe final touches to portfolio, fixing details in form, or simply breathing little bit before hitting the submit button.
