India invites millions to join a 4.5-hour self-paced AI introduction programme.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), under the umbrella of the IndiaAI Mission, has rolled out a free short course titled “YUVA AI For All”, aimed at equipping young Indians with foundational knowledge about artificial intelligence.
Designed as a self-paced module of about 4.5 hours, the programme uses real-life Indian examples to make the abstract world of AI easier to grasp. The course includes six modules that cover: what AI is, how it works, how it’s influencing sectors like education and creativity, how to use AI responsibly, and what future AI-driven opportunities lie ahead.
MeitY has set an ambitious target: to train 10 million (1 crore) citizens through this initiative, hoping to bridge the digital-skills gap and prepare India’s workforce for the evolving AI landscape. Learners can access the course via platforms like FutureSkills Prime and iGOT Karmayogi, and at the end receive a certificate issued by the Government of India.
Registration is straightforward: join via the enrol link, log in (for example via Gmail or LinkedIn), provide some basic details, and begin the course at your own pace. For students, professionals or anyone curious about AI, this initiative offers a low-barrier entry into a field that’s becoming central to many careers and sectors. It also reflects a growing recognition that understanding AI isn’t just for specialists anymore it’s becoming part of general literacy in a digital age.
