GATE 2026 Exam Schedule

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, the organizing body for GATE 2026, has announced a revision in the exam schedule to prevent a clash with the UPSC Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2026. The UPSC ESE is scheduled for February 8, 2026, and to ensure that candidates appearing for both exams do not face a scheduling conflict, IIT Guwahati has assured that core engineering papers will not be scheduled on that date.

Revised GATE 2026 Exam Dates:

  • February 7, 2026
  • February 8, 2026 (No core engineering papers)
  • February 14, 2026
  • February 15, 2026

Application Deadlines:

Without late fee: September 28, 2025

With late fee: October 9, 2025

Important Note: The revised schedule ensures that core engineering papers such as Civil Engineering (CE), Electronics Engineering (EC), Electrical Engineering (EE), Geology and Geophysics (GG), Instrumentation Engineering (IN), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Production and Industrial Engineering (PI), and Geomatics Engineering (GE) will not be held on February 8, 2026.
