IIT Delhi is undergoing campus renovation in Haryana's Jhajjar and Sonipat, with new facilities for research and innovation.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi (IIT-D) is renovating its campus facilities in Haryana's Jhajjar and Sonipat. Subhas Sarkar, Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, stated in a written reply to the Parliament's winter session that the initiative is being implemented in stages.
There are now two fully operational facilities on the IIT Delhi (Sonipat) campus: IIT Delhi Technopark (I-TEC) and Central Research Facility (CRF). Aside from that, the minister stated that a High Capacity Computing (HPC) facility for Artificial Intelligence (AI) with a data center is being established with the assistance of the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM).

In addition, a new facility under the 'Sophisticated Analytical & Technical Help Institutes (SATHI)' project is being developed adjacent to the CRF building to improve and complement the current research-relevant infrastructure, he noted.
"The project is being implemented in phases keeping in view availability of faculty, sponsorship of research projects, etc," he stated.
Rangan Banerjee, director of IIT Delhi, stated in August that the university will build two additional campuses in Haryana, Jhajjar and Sonipat. The Sonipat project would cost Rs 59.73 crore in total. According to Banerjee, the Jhajjar campus would be the country's first institution for Patient-Specific Drug Development for cancer therapy.
IIT Delhi is also expanding its international presence by establishing a campus in Abu Dhabi, which will begin programs in January 2024.
