The Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced recruitment for Agniveer Vayu posts under the 2024 Agnipath scheme. These recruitments provide an opportunity to unmarried Indian male and female candidates to join the Indian Armed Forces.
As per the notification, applications will start from July 8 to July 28 through the official website at agnipathvayu.cdac.in. Eligible candidates, who are born between July 3, 2004, and January 3, 2008, can apply, provided they do not exceed 21 years of age at the time of enrolment after clearing all the selection rounds.
Educational qualification
For Science subjects
Candidates must have passed Intermediate or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics, and English from recognised education boards with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English. Alternatively, they should have completed a three-year Diploma Course in Engineering with 50% marks in aggregate and English (if English was not a subject in the Diploma).
For Non-Science subjects
Students should have passed Intermediate or equivalent in any stream with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English. Alternatively, completed a two-year vocational course with similar marks.
"Agniveervayu will be enrolled in the Indian Air Force under the Air Force Act 1950 for a period of four years. Agniveervayu will hold a distinct rank in the Indian Air Force, different from any existing ranks. The Indian Air Force is not obliged to retain Agniveervayu beyond the engagement period of four years," reads the notification.

Application fee
Candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs 550.
