The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has launched the ‘Ignite’ project to drive transformation in India’s microenterprises and self-help organizations. The initiative seeks to enable innovative start-ups that are pioneering technology-driven solutions for grassroots companies by providing money, coaching, and critical tools.

According to the statement, the project intends to accelerate the establishment of start-ups dedicated to uplifting underprivileged areas, supporting sustainable development, and improving economic resilience.

Applications for the Ignite program are now open and will conclude on November 20. Start-ups and groups striving to empower microenterprises and SHGs must apply.

Announcing the same, Prof Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM Kozhikode and Chairman of IIMK LIVE, said, “The Ignite programme is a testament to the Institute’s commitment to foster collaboration between innovative start-ups and grassroots micro-enterprises/SHGs. By providing targeted solutions in critical areas such as supply chain management, financial services, and marketing, Ignite aims to help micro-enterprises and SHGs unlock their full potential, driving positive social and economic impact.”
