Six-month AI programme opens new doors for learners focusing on deployable real-world skills.
IIT Delhi Launches Second

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has opened enrolments for the second batch of its Certificate Programme in Applied Data Science and Artificial Intelligence: From Fundamentals to Deployment. Offered via IIT Delhi’s Continuing Education Programme (CEP), the six-month course is designed to equip participants with hands-on skills to build, deploy, and manage AI and data science solutions.

The syllabus begins with foundational topics such as Python programming, data manipulation, exploratory analysis, regression, classification, clustering, and dimensionality reduction. It then advances into more specialized subjects like deep learning and natural language processing. Students also gain experience with modern production tools—Docker, cloud deployment, and model monitoring through MLOps practices. Ethical AI principles are embedded in the curriculum, and participants engage in a capstone project and industry-oriented case studies to translate theory into real solutions.

Delivered in a “Direct-to-Device” (D2D) format, the programme includes 72 hours of live interactive lectures, 40 hours of hands-on capstone work, practical tutorials, and self-paced learning modules. There is also an optional short on-campus immersion at IIT Delhi for deeper engagement. Participants who fulfil the programme requirements will be awarded e-certificates from CEP, IIT Delhi.

Professor Ankur Gupta of IIT Delhi’s Centre for Applied Research in Electronics notes that the curriculum is built “around doing, not just knowing,” ensuring trainees leave with deployable models and confidence to create impact across sectors. With industry projections showing accelerating adoption of data-driven decision making, this programme positions learners to bridge the skill gap and prepare for future tech-driven careers.
