Education leaders gather in Chennai to discuss innovation, partnerships and the future of learning.
Chennai is set to host a major international education event as the India Global Education Summit brings together education leaders, policymakers, universities and students from around the world. Scheduled to take place on January 28 and 29, 2026, the two day summit aims to strengthen India’s position in the global education ecosystem.
The event will be held at Kalaivanar Arangam and is expected to attract delegates from more than 20 countries. Participants will include government officials, academic heads, researchers, education investors and industry experts working across higher education and skill development sectors.
The summit focuses on building meaningful global collaborations in education. Discussions will explore how institutions can work together to enhance academic quality, improve student mobility and align education systems with future workforce needs.
Key themes include innovation in learning, international partnerships, research collaboration, digital education, employability and talent development. Panel discussions, workshops and interactive sessions will address challenges such as access to quality education, cross border admissions and the integration of new technologies in classrooms.
One of the major objectives of the summit is to connect students with global opportunities. Attendees will have the chance to interact with representatives from international universities, explore scholarship options and understand emerging career paths shaped by global trends.
The event will also feature networking platforms and a business focused exhibition that encourages cooperation between educational institutions and industry partners. These interactions aim to translate discussions into long term partnerships and policy initiatives.
State leadership is expected to participate in the summit, highlighting the region’s commitment to transforming education through innovation and international engagement. The government aims to promote the state as a preferred destination for global institutions, research investment and student exchange programmes.
For students, educators and institutions alike, the India Global Education Summit provides a unique space for dialogue and collaboration. By bringing global voices together under one roof, the summit seeks to shape the future of education, foster innovation and create opportunities that extend beyond borders.
