The Union Government has approved the establishment of four new schools under the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan for the 2026–27 academic session, marking a continued expansion of India’s centrally administered school education system. The new Kendriya Vidyalayas are expected to be operational in a phased manner, starting with foundational and primary classes. Locations of New Kendriya Vidyalayas
The four approved schools will be set up in:

• Gool, Ramban district, Jammu and Kashmir
• AIIMS Darbhanga region, Bihar
• Shamli, Uttar Pradesh
• Madan Negi, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand

These locations have been selected based on demographic needs, administrative feasibility, and availability of land for development.
Phased Implementation

The schools will initially begin with Balvatika and Classes I to V. Higher classes will be introduced gradually as infrastructure and staffing requirements are met. Temporary facilities will be used in the initial phase, followed by the development of permanent campuses in coordination with local authorities.

The expansion of Kendriya Vidyalayas aims to promote equal access to standardized CBSE-based education across India. It is aligned with the goals of the National Education Policy 2020, which emphasizes equitable and inclusive education.
