A tragic incident in Greater Noida hostel: MBA student shot dead, roommate critically injured, raising serious concerns over hostel security and safety protocol
A heartbreaking incident came to light at Knowledge Park 3 of Greater Noida in the early hours of Tuesday, when an MBA student from Andhra Pradesh was found dead and his roommate was found in a seriously injured condition inside the private institute's hostel room. The terrible situation was revealed when a security guard, who was tasked to shut down the light, heard the voices of groaning from behind the closed room. When he could not open the door from outside, he informed the warden and peeping from the balcony. The scene he saw was about to create shuddering: Both students were lying on the blood -soaked floor.
Taking action fast, the hostel staff broke the window glass and entered inside with the help of the ladder. The students were immediately rushed to a close hospital, but unfortunately one of them was declared dead as soon as they reached, while the other is still in critical condition.
Police investigation revealed that the deceased was shot in the head. A pistol was recovered from the spot, which is believed to have the father of the injured student. At the same time, two empty cartridges and four live bullets also met the scene. At the moment, the authorities have not clarified who fired and what was the reason behind the incident.
