The Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) has made history by securing an 'A+' rating from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), becoming the first institution in the state to achieve this distinction. VC Professor Sat Prakash Bansal expressed pride in the university's accomplishments and highlighted the NAAC team's satisfaction with their research projects and the National Education Policy (NEP) implementation. Additionally, the Centre has approved a grant of Rs 500 crore for the development of permanent campuses in the Dehra and Jadrangal areas of the Dharamsala Assembly constituency.

In an interview with The Tribune, VC Professor Sat Prakash Bansal stated that the university's achievement of this NAAC rating—despite lacking a permanent campus—is a source of great pride. According to him, the university received the grade for its "exemplary work in the field of research."

The NAAC team recently visited the CUHP campus in Dharamsala, the vice chancellor said, and they expressed their satisfaction with the university's effort in carrying out research projects and putting the National Education Policy (NEP) into practice.

The varsity is now operating out of its temporary campuses at Dehra, Shahpur, and Dharamsala.

For the development of permanent campuses in the Dehra (South campus) and Jadrangal (North Campus) areas of the Dharamsala Assembly constituency, the Centre has approved a grant of Rs 500 crore.
