NEET SS Counselling Delay Leaves Candidates Waiting And Worried

NEET SS 2025 Round 2 counselling has remained delayed for over two months due to a legal dispute.

Thousands of NEET-SS 2025 candidates are facing uncertainty as Round 2 counselling has been delayed for more than two months. Aspirants say the prolonged wait is affecting their admission plans, career progression and the start of super-specialty medical training.

The delay is linked to a legal dispute over 151 vacant super-specialty seats in Tamil Nadu. According to the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), the counselling process was paused due to an ongoing matter before the Supreme Court.

MCC had requested the vacant seats to be included in the national counselling process. However, the Tamil Nadu government informed the committee that it had filed a review petition in the case, leading to further delays.

Many candidates have urged authorities to continue counselling for seats in other states while the issue related to Tamil Nadu is resolved separately. They believe this would prevent unnecessary delays for thousands of students across the country.

Medical professionals and aspirants have also raised concerns that the delay could affect the timely training of future specialists and impact healthcare services in the long run.

MCC has advised candidates to keep checking its official website for updates. Until the legal matter is resolved, Round 2 counselling will remain on hold, leaving many aspirants waiting for clarity on admissions and training schedules.
