The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow has announced that it has teamed with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur to develop a combined postgraduate programme in healthcare management.
With the aim to address the requirement for leadership in the healthcare industry, the collaboration of the two institutes hope to blend management principles with advanced medical technology.
“We believe this joint programme will foster innovative solutions that can significantly improve healthcare management in India and globally,” said Archana Shukla, director, IIM Lucknow.
While Shukla signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of IIM Lucknow, Manindra Agrawal, director, IIT Kanpur was the signatory for IIT Kanpur.
“The postgraduate joint degree programme is a key component of our Gangwal School of Medical Sciences and Technology initiative, which seeks to enhance the integration of medical technology and innovation into our curriculum,” Agrawal said.
The programme will be conducted in close conjunction with IIT Kanpur’s Centre of Excellence in Digital Health, and will involve collaborations with international institutions that are important for India’s healthcare landscape.
The objective of the initiative is to foster the integration of cutting-edge technology into medical practice and produce leaders equipped to tackle the evolving challenges of healthcare management.
“By leveraging the strengths of both institutions, we are positioning our graduates to address the pressing challenges of healthcare with a holistic and forward-looking approach,” Agrawal added.
