CBSE revokes senior secondary status after probe confirms harassment and salary deduction violations.
In a significant development for the education sector in western Uttar Pradesh, a prominent school in Noida has lost its senior secondary affiliation with the Central Board of Secondary Education following serious complaints. The action was taken after a fact finding committee confirmed allegations related to harassment of teachers, improper salary deductions and administrative misconduct within the institution.
The school, located in Sector 56 Noida, will no longer be allowed to admit or promote students in Classes 9 and 11 until it fully complies with board regulations. Nearly 1,500 students enrolled in these classes will now have to seek admission in other affiliated schools before March 31. However, students in Classes 10 and 12 will be permitted to complete their academic session at the same campus since their board examinations are approaching.
The investigation began after several teachers lodged complaints alleging mental harassment and unfair deductions from their salaries. Reports indicated that school management practices did not align with prescribed norms and that there were concerns regarding workplace conduct and transparency. These findings prompted the board to take strict action to ensure that staff welfare and regulatory standards are upheld.
Apart from the harassment allegations, the school had earlier faced issues with local authorities as well. It was reportedly sealed at one point over unpaid land dues amounting to around ₹20 crore. These financial and administrative complications further raised questions about its compliance with institutional guidelines.
The cancellation of affiliation has triggered mixed reactions among parents and staff members. Some have welcomed the decision, viewing it as a necessary step to protect teachers and maintain academic integrity. Others are worried about the disruption students may face in finding new schools at short notice.
The board has clarified that the institution may reapply for senior secondary affiliation in the 2027 28 academic year, provided it demonstrates full compliance with all required norms. Meanwhile, local education authorities are expected to decide arrangements for students in lower classes to ensure continuity in their studies.
