The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test (CSIR UGC NET) June 2024 application form to May 27, 2024. The NTA started the registration process for this Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode exam on May 1, 2024.

The examination encompasses a variety of academic disciplines including Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Mathematical Sciences, among others.

Interested candidates can fill out the CSIR NET application forms by visiting the official website. The correction window for the examination will begin on May 29 and remain active till May 31, 2024.

Steps to Apply for the Exam

Step 1: Visit the official website of CSIR UGC NET at https://csirnet.nta.ac.in/

Step 2: Click on the ‘Joint CSIR-UGC NET JUNE-2024: Click here to Registration/Login’ link and create an account

Step 3: Login to your account using your login credentials

Step 4: Fill out the application form with accurate academic and personal details

Step 5: Upload the required documents and submit the form

Step 6: The fee payment page will open, pay the fee online through the provided gateway

Step 7: Download the confirmation for further use

Duration of exam

The duration of the exam will be 180 minutes (3 hours). The exam will consist of multiple-choice objective-type questions and will be conducted in both Hindi and English languages. 

The examination is conducted by the NTA to determine the eligibility of candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or Lectureship (LS)/Assistant Professor in the universities and colleges of India. Generally, NTA conducts CSIR UGC NET  twice a year in June and December.
