O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU), India, and the United Nations University (UNU), Japan, sign an MoU to foster academic collaboration in environmental studie

O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU), India, and the United Nations University (UNU), Japan, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster friendship and cooperation in higher education and research. This landmark agreement represents a significant step toward increasing academic collaboration by encouraging knowledge, cultural, and personnel interchange between the two educational institutions.

The MoU represents the collaboration between JGU and UNU in the areas of environmental studies, social and economic development, and sustainability. The partners are dedicated to utilizing their combined proficiency to tackle worldwide issues and promote the progress of understanding in these vital domains. The partnership will make it easier to promote collaborative research projects, professor and student exchanges, and the creation of cutting-edge educational initiatives.

Highlighting the potential of this collaboration, Professor Tshilidzi Marwala, Rector of the United Nations University, stated that “this MoU represents a unique opportunity of bringing together two institutions dedicated to addressing some of the most pressing issues of our time. The synergy between UNU and JGU, particularly in sustainability and social development, is profound and will undoubtedly lead to excellent research and impactful initiatives.”

Echoing these sentiments, Professor C. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor of O.P. Jindal Global University, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “we are truly honored to be the first university in India to sign an MoU with the United Nations University, headquartered in Japan.
