Prof Milap Punia appointed Vice-Chancellor of Maharshi Dayanand University for three years or until age 68.
Prof Milap Punia, Professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University, has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, for a tenure of three years or until he attains the age of 68, whichever is earlier.
In another appointment, Prof Sandeep Bansal, Professor of Commerce at IGN College, has been named the Registrar of MDU, replacing Dr Krishan Kant.
The second consecutive three-year term of former Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajbir Singh ended on February 20. After that, Prof Somnath Sachdeva, Vice-Chancellor of Kurukshetra University, was given additional charge of Vice-Chancellor of MDU until further orders.
The appointment orders were issued by Governor-cum-Chancellor Prof Ashok Kumar Ghosh late on Friday evening.
