A 15-year-old student was humiliated beaten in hostel three minors now booked.
A shocking case of ragging has surface from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, where a 15-year-old first year ITI student was allegedly force to strip and brutally beaten inside a hostel room. The case draw swift public outrage after video of the assault circulated on social media.
According to police report, the victim was assault by three senior students in a room of the government Kallar hostel at Checkanurani. The attackers allegedly humiliate him, removed his cloths, strike him with slippers reportedly even targeting his private part and record the incident. In response of complain, the authorities has booked the three minor under relevant section of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Ragging Act and juvenile justice law.
The ITI administration respond by suspending the accused student and registering an internal enquiry. The hostel warden has been suspend for negligence. State educational official and student right groups has strongly condemn the incident, calling for more stricter surveillance, stronger anti-ragging committee, and preventive measure across technical and vocational institute.
This grim episode underline how ragging still persists in institution that are assume to be safe, and how vulnerable new student remain to abuse. The emotional, physical and psychological damage caused by such violation can be long lasting. As investigation continue, many critics demanding swift and stern punishment not only to perpetrators, but also to any system or personnel complicit through oversight lapse.
