Rice University launches Rice Global India in Bengaluru to boost education and technology collaborations with IIT Kanpur and IISc Bengaluru.
Rice institution, a private institution in the United States, is increasing its international footprint by launching Rice Global India, which will stimulate global cooperation and increase its contributions to India’s fast rising education and technology sectors.
On November 18, the University held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new center in Bengaluru, setting the groundwork for future formal activities in the region and bolstering the university’s expanding network throughout India.
During the event, the team also met with Priyank Kharge of the Department of Electronics, IT, Biotechnology, and Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, to discuss long-term collaboration potential for developing Global Capability Centers (GCC).
As part of this strategic expansion, Rice University is deepening its collaborations with institutions such as the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru. These partnerships will foster advanced research initiatives, student and faculty exchanges and collaborations in key areas of mutual interest such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology and sustainable energy, the US university stated.
“India is a country of tremendous opportunity, one where we see the potential to make a meaningful impact through collaboration in research, innovation and education,” Rice President Reginald DesRoches said.
