JEE Main 2026 registrations start key dates sessions and FAQs outlined for candidates.
The registration window for the JEE Main 2026 has officially opened, marking a crucial step for engineering-aspirants across India. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam will be held in two session: Session 1 from January 21 to 30, 2026, and Session 2 from April 1 to 10.
One of the key changes: candidates can appear in either or both sessions, and their best score will be considered for ranking. The NTA’s newly-released FAQs clarify many longstanding queries for instance, that calculators will not be allowed in the test.
For students gearing up for the form-filling phase, a few points to note:
Documents uploaded through DigiLocker will be accepted easing the burden of physical paperwork.
Discrepancies in names like between the Aadhaar and Class 10 certificate won’t automatically invalidate your application, provided you are ready for verification later.
The deadline for Session 1 registration is November 27, 2025 so aspiring candidates should act promptly.
Schools, especially under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), have been asked to provide students’ Class 11 registration numbers promptly to enable smooth application flow.
What does this mean practically? If you're an engineering hopeful, now is the moment to gather your documents, compare both sessions’ preparation strategies, and plan for whichever session works best. Doing everything in one go gives you the flexibility to treat the two sessions as a back-up for each other.
The window is open and possibilities are ahead but timing, readiness and clarity will decide how far you go. Good luck!
