SSC reschedules CGL exam to October 14 for those affected by disruptions during initial tests.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced that the SSC CGL 2025 exam will be rescheduled to October 14 for candidates who were adversely affected during the original testing period. Those who were prevented from attempting their exam due to incidents like the Mumbai fire or technical failures will now have a second chance.
Earlier, the Tier-1 CGL exam was held across 255 centres in 126 cities over 45 shifts. About 13.5 lakh candidates appeared out of 28 lakh registrations. During that period, SSC reportedly received over 18,000 feedbacks citing technical problems and disruptions.
However, the move does not apply to all. Those found guilty of malpractice remain barred from the re-exam opportunity. Only aspirants cleared of misconduct and legitimately impacted will be allowed to take the October 14 examination.
In addition, SSC has announced that the challenge window for contesting CGL exam questions will open around October 15. Meanwhile, other recruitment exam schedules are also in motion: the Tier-1 CHSL exam is expected to begin in the fourth week of October, and registrations for Delhi Police SI, CPO, and Constable GD are underway or upcoming.
For candidates awaiting clarity and stability, the rescheduling offers a measure of relief and underscores SSC’s responsiveness to examinee grievances. But timing, fairness, and transparency in execution will be key to regaining trust and ensuring smooth conduct going forward.
