UGC NET exam dates 2022 to release soon, Check details

Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be releasing the examination date for the upcoming UGC-NET December 2021 and June 2022. The examination dates will be announced at UGC-NET official website- ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

Important Dates of UGC NET Exam 2022

  • Commencement of Official Registration- April 30, 2022
  • Last date of Submission- May 30, 2022
  • Opening of the Correction window- May 21, 2022
  • Availability of Admit Card- To be announced
  • UGC NET 2022 Exam Date- To be announced later on the website
  • Examination Timing- First Shift (09:00 am to 12:00 pm) Second Shift (03:00 pm to 06:00 pm)

NTA started the registration process for UGC-NET Dec 2021 and June 2022 (merged cycles) on April 30, 2022. The last date to fill the UGC NET application form was May 20, 2022.

The National Testing Agency conduct UGC NET exams to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian Universities and Colleges.  UGC-NET is conducted twice every year

Mode of Examination

The examination shall be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only.

Pattern of Examination

UGC NET exam will consist of two papers. Both papers will have objective-type, multiple-choice questions. It is important to note here that there will be no break between papers.

Paper Division

Paper 1

  • This paper will be of 100 marks
  • 50 questions
  • The Paper 1 aims to assess the research/ teaching aptitude of the candidates applying for the examination. It is designed to test reading comprehension, reasoning ability, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.

Paper 2

  • This paper will be of 200 marks
  • 100 questions
  • The Paper 2 is based on the subject selected by the candidate and intends to assess domain knowledge.

Marking Scheme

  • Each question carries two marks.
  • For each correct response, the candidate will get 2 marks.
  • There is no negative marking for incorrect responses.
  • No marks will be given for questions un-answered/un-attempted/marked for review.
  • To answer a question, the candidate needs to choose one option as the correct option.

 Medium of Question Paper

The medium of the Question Paper will be in English & Hindi only.
