UP Govt Announces University And Medical

The Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced significant development projects for Shahjahanpur. The district will soon get a new medical college and an existing college will be upgraded into a full university. The decision is being seen as a major push toward improving higher education and healthcare facilities in the region.

The new medical college will be named after freedom fighter Ram Prasad Bismil, who has deep historical connection with the area. A 100 bed hospital linked to the college is already operational, and it is expected to improve medical access for local residents. For many families in Shahjahanpur, this could reduce the need to travel to bigger cities for treatment or medical education.

In addition, Swami Shukdevanand College has received approval to be converted into a university. This upgrade will allow expansion of courses, research programmes and student intake. Officials believe that having a university in the district will encourage more students to continue higher studies locally instead of moving away.

The government also highlighted infrastructure improvements over the past several years. Projects like the Ganga Expressway have improved connectivity, helping businesses and residents travel more easily. Better roads and transport links often attract investment and create employment opportunities.

Shahjahanpur’s traditional zari zardozi craft is also receiving attention under the One District One Product scheme. Artisans have reportedly seen increased demand for their embroidery work, including exports to international markets. With education, healthcare and industry development happening together, the district is expected to see balanced growth in coming years.

Overall, the new announcements reflect an attempt to combine development with heritage preservation. Many residents feel hopeful that these steps will open new doors for youth and strengthen the local economy.
