UPSC IFS Main Exam 2025 schedule released

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the schedule for Indian Forest Service (IFS) Main Examination 2025. The mains will take place from November 16 to November 23, 2025. Candidates who cleared the preliminary exam are eligible to appear. There will be two sessions each exam day: forenoon session from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and afternoon session from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

Exam papers include General English, General Knowledge and optional subjects. Optional subjects cover a range of academic disciplines so students can choose according to their strengths. The exam pattern is rigorous, meant to test both broad awareness and subject-depth. The break between sessions helps candidates rest and prepare for next part.

One rest day is included in schedule November 17 is kept free to allow candidates to recuperate before next papers. This is often important when many papers are lined up. The full timetable with subject-wise papers, dates and timings is now available on UPSC’s official website.

Students are advised to check carefully exam instructions, allowed materials, rules about arrival times. They should plan their preparation accordingly, balancing optional subject revisions with general papers. Also keep track of exam center allotment and any updates from UPSC.
