UPSC Postpones Engineering Services Exam 2025: New Dates Announced

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has formally postponed the Engineering Services Examination, or UPSC ESE 2025, postponing both the preliminary and main examinations.

Candidates now have more time to study, with the revised test dates scheduled for June 8, 2025 for the prelims and August 10, 2025 for the mains.

With the change in test dates, UPSC has also extended the UPSC ESE application deadline. Aspirants who haven’t applied yet can do so till November 22 on the official website, upsc.gov.in.

Additionally, the Commission will reopen the application edit window once the registration process concludes, allowing candidates to make necessary changes.

This year, the government has introduced a significant update: recruitment for the Indian Railways Management Service (IRMS) will now happen through both the Civil Services Examination and the UPSC ESE.

The UPSC noted, “The Government has decided that the recruitment to the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) will be made both through the Civil Services Examinations (for Traffic, Accounts, and Personnel Sub-cadres) and ESE (for Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Signal & Telecommunication, and Stores Sub-cadres).”

To accommodate this change and give candidates more time to prepare, UPSC decided to push back the exam dates.

For more details and to apply, candidates can visit UPSC’s official website.
