West Bengal medical counselling body updates NEET PG 2025 timeline; Round 1 registration ends today.
The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) has released a revised schedule for the NEET PG 2025 Counselling in the state of West Bengal. The first round of online registration opens on 19 November and closes today, 20 November, as per the updated timetable. Once registered, verified candidates will await the publication of the merit list on 21 November, and will then take part in the choice-filling and locking process from 21 to 24 November. The seat allotment for Round 1 is slated to be declared on 27 November, with admission reporting scheduled between 28 November and 3 December.
For the subsequent rounds, the schedule is as follows: Round 2 registration will be from 8 to 10 December, with choice‐filling 12 to 14 December and result declaration on 18 December; admissions then run from 19 to 24 December. Round 3 registration is planned from 29 to 31 December, choice filling till 5 January, result on 9 January and joining by 13 January. A stray vacancy round is also announced: registration and fee payment 19-21 January, choice filling 22-25 January, allotment result on 28 January and reporting 29-31 January.
Importantly, the counselling guidelines include a bond policy: candidates who discontinue their postgraduate course will incur a penalty of ₹3 lakh, and discontinuation from diploma programmes will attract ₹2 lakh. All candidates are advised to register carefully via the official website (wbmcc.nic.in), upload required documents, pay fees online, and keep a close watch on the portal for updates.
With the registration window for Round 1 closing today, aspirants must act promptly to complete formalities. Delays or omissions may jeopardise eligibility for seat allotment in the first round, putting them at a disadvantage ahead of later rounds.
